How Adult Ensemble Sessions Work
Sessions bring together 3 to 8 adult students with instruments from across the studio, including piano and keyboard, electric and acoustic guitar, bass guitar, saxophone, trumpet, and drums. Each student arrives having worked on their individual part in private lessons. The ensemble session puts the parts together.
Most sessions work on two to three songs. Some are popular covers that students chose. Some are original pieces written by members of the group. The goal every session is to finish by playing something from beginning to end, together, as a complete group.
Every student has a specific role: solo, accompaniment, or rhythm. Those roles shift across different songs so every player understands the full picture of how an ensemble works, not just their own instrument's contribution.
What Adult Musicians Report
