Note Reading Game for Kids - Learn the Staff

Learning to read music starts with recognizing notes on the staff. This game makes that process feel like play rather than study, giving young students repeated exposure to note names in a low-stakes, game-based format.

Note reading is one of the first skills we build in lessons for young beginners. Students who can recognize notes on the treble and bass clef without having to count up from the bottom line develop independence in practice much faster than students who rely on counting every time.

How this connects to lessons: In a lesson, we introduce notes one at a time, in context, with the instrument in hand. This game reinforces that learning between sessions, giving students additional repetitions in a format that keeps their attention. The more times a student sees a note name in a musical context, the faster that recognition becomes automatic.
